I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving Holiday this week. Tomorrow it is back to school-back to our schedules. Another Holiday Season is here. Christmas is around the corner and then a brand new year!!!

Can't believe we are coming to the end of 2010! The year seems to have flown by!!! Soon we will usher in 2011. WOW!!! I know we've seen growth & seen our Ministry to Kids touch many kids lives with love & compassion to set their hearts on Christ!

This week is the last lesson in our Financial Peace University. What a blessing this series has been to our church family. We've had a great deal of excitement, participation & attendance during this series.

We have the month of December off for our teachers to enjoy family & to regroup for the new year.....this would be the time change the bulletin boards & decorate for the new year...... prepare for January when we begin the all church 21 day Daniel Fast.

The following semester that starts in February....we begin a study of the book of Hebrews. I love the book of Hebrews. The "hall of fame" of many Bible examples of lives changed and redirected toward serving the Lord and leaving a legacy. Easter try outs has begun. Looking forward to another great Easter Production.

**We appreciate all of our fabulous Children's Ministry team, teachers, office staff, Bro. Daniel our Children's Pastor & all who have a part in Nursery thru 6th grade~and Bro. Marco our Student Pastor for Jr & High School. You are a blessing to our church family!!!

FRIDAY DECEMBER 10th is the ALL Church Party for ALL TRIBES!

"Christmas Around The World"--bring your ethnic or family favorite foods and prepare enough food for your family & half of another. Includes a main dish, veggie or salad & dessert.

Vacation Bible School Was Awesome!

Thank you to all the Teachers & Support Staff that kicked off our August Vacation Bible School. Bro. Daniel our Children's Pastor was in the heart of it. Sis. Jolene was our Director. Sis. Michelle Barnes and team were the artists for the fabulous food that told the story of the lessons. Sam & Abbey Wu were a vital part of the team in many ways....arts, games, lessons...hard work. We had many great helpers and staff that we can't say enough about the results!!! I would love for you all to share your pictures on this blog. Add names to the list of those who helped to teach and assist.

Sis. Eugenia George~Teacher Of The Year Award!

We are very blessed at Spirit & Truth to have two Public School Teachers on our Teaching Staff. We all love the enthusiasm and genuine spirits of the Georges!!! They are wonderfully dedicated to ministering to the hearts of children and youth....and really to any person God bring into their lives. They have made International mission trips to China, France & various other outreach ministries during their summer vacation.......they love to work with our sponsored missionaries and to spread the Gospel. This year she joined Spirit & Truth's curriculum writing committee and we have heard great reports from the youth about her lessons being relavant and exciting. She is our featured--TEACHER OF THE YEAR! We appreciate the prayer, concern, feeling, thoughtfulness, creativity, time, talent, and treasure that Sis. Eugenia puts into her teaching ministry!!!!

A New School Year Begins!!!!

Dear Teachers,

Welcome to a new school year! 2010-2011! We have one more year to affect our children for Christ. We have another year to put the word into our Seniors who will be going out into the world and searching for their own gifts & callings....career paths and future plans will the focus of their time and direction. Give them your best!!!!

It's always exciting to make a new start. We appreciate all of your dedication to our Church Educational Ministry. This semester we will be having the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University for the Adults. And our curriculum for kids will be our foundational Bible Stories!!! Make the lessons your own and add to them to bring them to life!!! God Bless Each Of You during this next teaching season!!!

Theme for June & July is "FEARLESS"-Fearless Living~Fearless Church

Our theme for June & July will be Fearless. Design for your room set up can be extreme sports that have to do with Diving/Water, Ocean decor, Climbing/mountains...Hand Gliding. We will discuss--Why are we afraid? The scriptures where the Lord says that he will be there--Fear Not! We will be having two-"Fearless Church" services on Weds. Night. All classes will be in the Sanctuary for Fearless Worship Service. Our own young preachers will be preaching. Choir, specials....great church!!! That will be June 30th & July 28th. The other 7 lessons will be given to you by Sis. Deanna, who has been doing a great job writing our childrens curriculum. Veggie Tales has some great stories about not having fear. August will be another fill month.

Family Communion Service-Weds. May 12, 2010

May is fill month. We will not be having regular Wednesday Night Classes. This coming mid-week service is a family prayer and communion service.

Easter Drama~Road to the Cross! This next weekend

We need all of our members and staff to invite guests out to our Easter Drama and to be a part of one of the teams....greeting, breakfast, hostesses...etc... Everyone is important in making our guests feel welcome. Be helpful & aware of those around you. We are expecting an awesome & empacting Easter weekend!!

True Love was a great series!

I would like to thank Sis. Deanna for all her hard work on the "True Love Series"......I would love to hear a praise report from the teachers and students. It would be so nice this Wednesday night to have a few samples of the activities and the children share a thought that has stuck with them thru the last 6 week series. We truly appreciate all that you...the teachers....are doing each week to teach & disciple our kids.

Happy thoughts or positive thoughts are very important. There is power in our thoughts and we can shape our lives thru them. We always say and think that we would like our lives to be like this or like that. Once we know what we want we can follow the path much easier. We are given the means to become what we want to become, it´s just that sometimes it is a bit difficult for us to see this. If you are true to yourself you can accomplish a lot. It's amazing when you speak positive to yourself...even in the bad times....things look brighter. The light of God shines brighter in the darkest hour. No matter what circumstance is facing you....keep your faith in the lead and not your doubts. Don't let negative thoughts steal your joy! Happy People think more "Happy Thoughts"- than Sad people. Think "Happy Thoughts" and you will have a Happy Day!

Two more weeks of the Love Series

We have two more Wednesdays of The TRUE LOVE SERIES. Then begins our new series Deeper Roots. We will be decorating with Trees, shovels, dirt, plants.....gardening....growing items. We are planning on having a cup of dirt for each child to grow a plant during this series. They can water it each week to see it grow. You can start changing over after this Weds. Nite Session if You would Like to. It will be the essential Bible Doctrines....

Children's Ministry Seminar

Our team had a nice time at the Children's Ministry Seminar in Riverside. Bro. Brent Randall inspired us to bring the Bible Alive with looking at the Bible Stories from a different perspective each time. Ex: Pick another voice....not the main character...ex: Jonah & the Whale....tell the story from the Whales perspective. Choose other characters and even objects of the story to keep it fresh & interesting to the children. Moses & the Burning Bush....tell it from the Bush's perspective. Make noises or hand motions the kids can copy and be a part of the story. Apply it to their everyday life. Make it simple to understand. If we don't apply it to them and give them a clear spiritual application....we might as well just be telling a fairy tale....it will not change their life without understanding what it means to them.

He just released a new book with techniques for story telling. I hope you are able to buy it and re-read the lessons he taught.

It was a nice time for our team to be together outside of the work we do each week. You are a blessing to our children. God Bless YOU for your ministry!

Weds. Nite Kickoff

Let your children know that they will be recieving a gift basket at the end of service. Their red bands will be in the bag to wear every weds. nite. We want to be sure they don't open their gift/candy bag in the church....hopefully they will get the bag home. That may mean you need to hand it to their parents.

Nursery Class is Decorated!!!

Loved seeing the Nursery Class all decorated for our February Love Month!!!! Great job! It looks great. Today I visited our new member of the Nursery class. Jude Ari Sanchez was born today. 8lbs and 10 oz. I took him a present and let him know he is a welcome new member of Spirit & Truth Worship Center. THANK YOU NURSERY CLASS!!!

February~True Love Series...is almost here!

Teachers...I am looking forward to seeing your rooms decorated for the February Love Series. Use your imagination and the lessons- to give you ideas. Red hearts can be used or any of the ready made items from party stores or make your own. Please prepare your class decor--BEFORE the first lesson in February.

Step 1
Decorate the bulletin board in your classroom with Valentine's Day decorations. You can purchase a Valentine's Day bulletin board kit online or at a teachers store. You can find teachers stores in your area online.

Step 2
Hang the kids' Valentine's Day crafts up. Kids love seeing projects that they've created hanging in the classroom. You can find a lot of great craft ideas for Valentine's Day online or at teachers stores.

Step 3
Trace hearts from templates, and transfer the shapes to different colored construction paper. Have the kids cut out the hearts, and put lace around them. Hang them all around the room to give the room a distinct Valentine's Day feel.

Step 4
Buy Valentine's Day banners and pictures to decorate your classroom with. You can also get these online at TeachersParadise.com.

Step 5
Place Valentine window clings on the classroom windows. Purchase them online, at a department store or party store. Or, let the students create their own as classroom crafts. They can do this with Valentine's Day templates for tracing, plastic sheets and acrylic paint

Children's Baptisms

I am so happy with the Children's baptisms the last few weeks. I know that is a large part of the teaching they are receiving in their Weds. Grow Classes and Sunday Super Kids Church services....we have an awesome Children's Ministry Staff!!!

Kids Connect Party

Teachers this week is our Connect Party for the kids. Wednesday at 7:30pm in the KidWav Chapel...all of the teachers are welcome to assist with the party and visit with the kids.

Happy 2010!!! This is going to be a GREAT NEW YEAR!

We had an awesome first Service of the year yesterday. We will not have children's classes-this is fill month. We have an all church session on Prayer & Fasting this weds. Jan 3rd. We begin our Daniel Fast next Sunday-Jan. 10th.

There will be a Teachers Training & luncheon the following Weds. Nite-Jan. 13 in the gym. We will be giving out the lessons for the True Love Series coming up in February.
